Overview

Rebellion is an independent video game developer with multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley. In addition to games, we run a film studio, publish board games, books, comics and graphic novels such as Judge Dredd.

We are looking for a Graduate Build Engineer to join our passionate and skilled team at Rebellion, based at our riverside headquarters in Oxford. Whether you are a recent graduate or a junior with industry experience, this is your chance to take the next step in your career.

In this role you will collaborate closely with our in‑house tech team to support and develop our proprietary game engine, Asura. You will play a key part in maintaining and improving internal build pipelines, automated testing systems, and asset processing tools.

We can provide a relocation package, including moving assistance, temporary accommodation and full support to ensure a smooth transition to your new environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and improving automation solutions.
  • Help enhance developer workflows.
  • Support in extending and improving existing build processes and systems.
  • Diagnose and fix errors that occur in developer or continuous integration workflows with guidance.
  • Maintain and improve existing tools written in Python and other scripting languages.
  • Analyse, communicate, and assist with build results and issues.
  • Contribute to improving continuous integration processes (e.g., using Jenkins).
  • Research new tools, techniques, and processes that can benefit Rebellion and our games.

Requirements

  • Great interest in debugging and problem‑solving.
  • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as Python and C++.
  • Good initiative, self‑motivation and organisational skills, with the ability to collaborate productively within larger multi‑disciplined project team environments.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • A logical and technical mind with the ability to break down problems and create effective solutions.
  • A passion to develop, maintain and further our build systems and tools to improve the quality and ease for our game teams.
