The world around us is changing rapidly, placing an increased demand on growing services sectors to become net zero. We are looking for the next generation of interns who will continue to innovate across different areas of our business and support the energy, digital and industrial transitions of our customers. As an Equans intern, you will have the exciting opportunity to experience the diverse and interesting world of one of the UK's biggest facilities management organisations.
Starting in August, you will join our induction with the other interns before your specific placement commences to start building your network and understanding of the business. During your scheme, you will have the opportunity to gain insight and experience in the diverse and exciting world of Finance. Our internships also give an invaluable insight into our graduate scheme, which enables you to build a network and learn who you are. Whether your focus is operations, services, or finance, we will help you figure out and achieve your full potential. You will need to be fully mobile as the placements could be based anywhere within the UK and interns might need to relocate depending on the placement locations.
This 12-month structured programme will give you unparalleled insight into one of our many divisions, as well as the opportunity to experience others, in order to develop your understanding of the whole business. The programme will give you unrivalled work experience in the ways in which we support and deliver innovative solutions to our communities and customers.
Year In Industry Placement – Finance OverviewOur Finance teams deliver an incredibly wide range of technical services to our clients all over the country. You could be a part of one of our largest facilities management contracts, where we work in partnership with some of the UK's biggest hospitals, universities, and schools. Alternatively, you could be helping to mobilise one of our newest contract wins. A life in Finance is never dull and as an intern, you will gain experience of what it takes to support large, diverse teams in a fun and rewarding industry.
You will have a passion for putting the customer first, working in teams and constantly looking to improve and innovate. Over the course of your internship scheme, you will gain an understanding of how we support our customers and how to deliver innovative solutions to our communities and clients.
Over the course of your internship scheme, you could gain exposure to:
- Supporting our Employee Business Support Teams to develop your technical finance skills and understand some of the teams such as Accounting Services, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Supporting one of our central finance teams such as Pricing and Modelling, Financial Planning & Analysis or Tax
- Working alongside one of our operational finance teams where you will be required to go on-site to understand the way our teams work
We are looking for the next generation of interns who will continue to innovate in our chosen markets, to transform our products and manage the services delivered to customers. As an intern, you will work on the front line, gaining exposure to the people, processes, and technology that are transforming our business.
The internship carries real responsibility, work that is relevant and central to our business, and the opportunity to make a big impact early on in your career. Over the 12-month programme, you will receive a variety of training opportunities to support your development.

Candidates must submit an up-to-date CV outlining their motivations for applying to Equans and answer our pre-screening eligibility questions. Applications missing this will not be progressed. All candidates must have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the scheme without the need for employer sponsorship. Individual ideally should be between their penultimate and final year of university and be working towards a degree which incorporates a Year in Industry placement.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a telephone interview in March-April 2026. Those successful at telephone interview will progress to the final stage and be invited to participate in one of our assessment centres taking place in April-May 2026.
