What We’re Looking For
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated student to join our team and work across multiple departments within DFC, following the customer journey to understand the fundamental workings of a bank, with time allocated to support projects across supporting functions and up to 4 weeks spent within the finance function. This placement offers an invaluable experience for students to gain insight into the inner workings of a dynamic financial institution and to contribute to meaningful projects under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Requirements
THE ROLE, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Other duties may be assigned outside of the following duties and responsibilities:
- Assisting the accounts payable function, including booking supplier invoices, supplier payments, credit control, supplier queries.
- Preparing bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations. Engaging with the Operations Team to resolve reconciliation issues.
- P/L account analysis for month-end reporting.
- Reconciling intercompany balances between subsidiaries of the Group.
- Assisting with the cash transfer process between company bank accounts.
- Input to daily treasury and regulatory reporting.
- Spend time across different departments to gain a holistic understanding of how various functions collaborate to achieve organisational goals. This may include opportunities to shadow professionals in risk management, commercial operations and customer relationship management.

This is an eight-week placement starting on 23 June and running to 15 August 2024. Working hours are Monday to Friday 0900 – 1730 with an hour for lunch.
