The Assistant HR Business Partner delivers an efficient and responsive HR service, acting as the first point of contact for employees and managers on a range of people-related matters. The role supports the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records management and leaver processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to best practice. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, they will also support payroll input, absence management and training coordination, while maintaining GDPR compliance and contributing to a positive employee experience and continuous improvement of all HR processes.

How will you contribute to the Team?

  • Support stakeholders across Jigsaw with HR matters, providing advice and support to ensure best outcomes
  • Manage the full recruitment process, ensuring adherence to Safer Recruitment practices
  • Monitor new starter pre-employment checks to meet statutory obligations and regulatory body standards
  • Support the employee life cycle, managing new starter, change and leaver processes
  • Promote a vigilant culture around GDPR, ensuring data is protected and appropriately managed within the team and across Jigsaw
  • Support the completion of payroll, ensuring high accuracy and timely submission
  • Support effective absence management and ongoing engagement and wellbeing of staff team to ensure staff are delighted and satisfied at work

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Need

  • A HR generalist or experienced HR Administrator/Assistant/Coordinator looking for the next step in your career
  • Experience in education, social care and/or the third sector would be an advantage
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to build credibility, trust and respect at all levels of seniority
  • A proactive team player with a can-do attitude and the ability to lend a hand wherever is needed
  • Organised with excellent administration skills and the ability to complete tasks in a logical manner with a high attention to detail
  • Numerate, with an understanding of payroll from an HR perspective
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent qualifications would be an advantage

Salary £32,000

Contract terms Monday to Friday 37.5 hours between 8.00am to 5.00pm (Specific hours to be agreed)

Annual Leave 25 Days plus 8 Bank Holidays
