Help Shape the UK’s Energy Future Engineering Placement Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C. As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Marine and Tunnels Section.

What will you do?

The Work Placement shall be expected to support the Avonmouth Delivery Team in their day-to-day activities, as well as shadowing the larger Avonmouth team i.e the support functions - Survey, H,S,E,W, Methods, Temporary Works, Lifting etc. The Work Placement shall gain further experience and knowledge of the construction industry and understand the importance of cross-functional collaboration in construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Site Team to perform daily monitoring and reporting of subcontractors works.
  • Support the Survey Team in setting out and management of control points.
  • Shadow the methods and design teams in both permanent & temporary works design.
  • Support the H,S,E&W Team in their inspections and work activities.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • College level enrolment in STEM based subjects (E.g. Maths, Physics, Engineering).
  • Familiarity with engineering tools and software (e.g. AutoCAD, Navisworks, SolidWorks).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
