Programme Information

You will join as a trainee as part of the Investment20/20 programme. While we can’t guarantee a permanent position at the end of the 12‑month contract, our intention is to make an offer to extend a further year, but this is up to how well you perform. 75% of Investment20/20 trainees are offered permanent positions. The traineeship will introduce you to investment management and you will gain industry knowledge, experience and develop relationships enabling you to progress your career and provide you with skills to secure a permanent role. We will support you in achieving a professional qualification if this is something you are interested in doing. As part of the programme you will have opportunities to meet and network with over 300 trainees across the industry and participate in socials and insight events. It is a fixed‑term one‑year contract. You will receive 24 days annual leave. All roles are based in London.

Programme Summary

This programme is intended to give you a breadth of knowledge and experience within the business to enable you to make informed decisions about where you would like to develop your career.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and update standard strategy and capability presentation materials and ad‑hoc client presentations for portfolio reviews and/or investment proposals, including implementing relevant regulatory requirements under the supervision of the Investment Specialist.
  • Regularly prepare and analyse portfolio historical data extracts, management comments, RFIs and RFPs, and support the Investment Specialist in answering queries from the sales team or London colleagues (IS team members, PMs).
  • Track management comments, performance attributions, dedicated reviews and bespoke reports to be produced by the IS team and their respective deadlines to ensure the best possible quality of service.
  • Produce commentaries on markets and performance drivers for select strategies, as required.
  • Coordinate with different stakeholders to ensure all required inputs are available to the IS team in a timely manner (peer analysis, MO reports, etc.).
  • Back‑up other team members on their respective fields of expertise for first‑level internal requests.
  • Coordinate various projects to increase efficiency in the team, taking the lead on managing these projects through to completion (e.g., presentation/reporting automation, streamlining data reporting for key clients).

Requirements

  • Graduate with an interest in working within financial services.
  • Enthusiastic, inquisitive and interested in Investment Management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of translating data and analysis into written form and presenting such analysis to internal and/or external teams.
  • Proactive and at ease with assuming responsibilities.
  • Expected to acquire increasing independence, answering similar queries and facing similar technical and commercial situations.
  • Some knowledge of Fixed Income is ideal, but not mandatory.
  • Detail oriented with good organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Major in investments, finance or economics preferred.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant financial markets field.
  • Fluent in English; other language skills are a plus.
  • Proficient in Excel/VBA, PowerPoint, and Python.
  • Team‑player approach with flexibility, reliability, responsibility and commitment.
  • Ability to prioritise between tasks and produce quality results.
  • Comfortable on the trading floor with direct access to portfolio managers; confident, thoughtful, measured and solution‑oriented.
