With teams located worldwide, PAA constructs, manages, and advises on portfolios of alternative investment solutions tailored for institutional and private clients. The Group is keen to drive further development for PAA in the coming years, particularly by broadening its product offerings to include additional asset classes and enhancing its institutional client base. The Pictet Group currently manages USD 46bn in alternative assets, including more than USD 30bn in private equity. In 2023, Pictet launched its first direct private equity fund, targeting mid-market European buyout opportunities. The Fund typically invests equity tickets of €20-80 million into businesses with enterprise values of up to €200 million. Our primary focus is the UK and DACH regions, investing in founder‑and‑entrepreneur‑led, middle‑market companies (€3-15 million EBITDA) across the B2B Services, Education & Training and Industrials sectors.
YOUR ROLE The Team, now composed of 12 Investment Professionals based in London, is seeking a highly motivated Intern to support the continued growth and development of the franchise. In that context, you will be primarily focused on UK investment opportunities (majority) and as well as DACH opportunities (minority), where language capabilities permit but this is not essential.
- Deal origination, market analysis & screening: contribute to pipeline building and deal sourcing, primarily in the UK & DACH, as well as primary market research & analysis to assist in the initial evaluation of potential acquisition targets.
- Deal execution: actively contribute to the entire deal process for new investments including all due diligence areas (financial, commercial, legal, tax, technology, etc.) and support with drafting of investment memos and setting up financial analysis / models.
- Portfolio monitoring: support the management of a diversified portfolio of direct investments. Collaborate internally and with employees from portfolio companies and external consultants to implement value‑creation initiatives and assist in preparing quarterly performance reports.
YOUR PROFILE Graduated (or due to graduate) from a top‑tier educational institution. Previous internship(s) or full‑time experience(s) in demanding work environments such as private equity, investment banking, or consulting at leading firms. Proven strong financial modelling skills and proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel and PPT) and familiarity with AI tools. Strong ability to analyse complex financial data and market trends, combined with a proactive, solution‑oriented approach to identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. Proven ability to communicate clearly and build strong working relationships, effectively collaborating with colleagues and managing interactions with internal and external stakeholders. Fluency in German and English, written and spoken is mandatory. In addition to strong technical skills, the ideal candidate is enthusiastic, energetic, mature, and results‑driven, with a high level of integrity and a collaborative mindset. The successful candidate will work closely with a seasoned investment team in an entrepreneurial, start‑up‑style environment within one of the world’s leading private financial institutions. This role offers hands‑on exposure to the full UK and European deal‑making process, providing rapid learning and direct training from professionals with extensive experience in private equity, investment banking, and consulting.
