Frontier Pitts Ltd is creating a new role of production controller to organise our busy production schedules. Candidates should be organised, forward thinking and proactive. A positive character and the ability to contribute to multi‑disciplinary meetings are essential. A degree in engineering or operations management is desirable.
The Production Controller will direct activities across cross‑functional areas (including manufacturing, quality, procurement and shipping) to execute production schedules and achieve on‑time performance objectives. They act as the bridge between sales forecasts and manufacturing operations, managing stock, optimising workflows and minimising downtime.
Key Responsibilities- Production Planning & Scheduling: Develop and execute daily, weekly and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts and available capacity.
- Material & Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and prevent stock shortages and reduce excess carrying costs.
- Workflow Monitoring: Track the progress of production runs to ensure deadlines are met, adjusting schedules swiftly to account for equipment breakdowns or material shortages.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with sales, logistics, procurement and warehouse teams to ensure seamless order fulfilment and alignment with revenue goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks, reduce expenses and increase productivity using methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma.
