Join our dynamic two-year rotational programme designed to propel recent graduates into a career in Physical & Financial commodity trading, with a strong focus on risk management and cutting-edge technology. Analysts initially participate in a variety of onboarding training sessions before joining their first desk for a 6-month rotation, which can be on a Physical or Financial Trading desk, our Risk team, or our Weather team. Analysts in the programme can participate in up to four rotations, pending performance, and at any point in time, a desk can extend an offer to join their team permanently. Following your first financial rotation, you will either be matched with a third rotation or be permanently placed on a desk.

Throughout the programme, you'll engage with company leaders, gain insights into global market strategies, and develop a robust understanding of the commodities landscape. Requirements

Responsibilities (Trading/Analysis)

  • Analyse markets to identify trading opportunities, analysing and understanding risks
  • Design and develop models to analyse economic data, market fundamentals, and forecast prices
  • Perform research and statistical studies of identified risk factors
  • Identify market pricing trends and discontinuity
  • Design and formulate trade ideas and execute with rigorous risk management control. Run back-testing to verify the strategy prior to production execution
  • Review research reports and articles that examine recent developments in the energy markets
  • Build up close connection with external consultancies and internal research team

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Statistics, Business, Economics, Energy, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field of study
  • Expected graduation date in Spring/Summer 2027
  • Prior internship/exposure to the commodities markets, or experience with other financial institutions and consulting is preferred
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills in one or more of the following: Python, R, Matlab, C++, VBA, Excel—as well as SQL or other database exposure. Python is the preferred programming language. Be prepared to review Python and SQL during interviews
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work as an effective team player and add value to the team
