At Holmes & Hills, we are committed to supporting the next generation of legal professionals. Our Work Experience Scheme is designed for individuals aspiring to become future Trainee Solicitors.

We are delighted to offer Law students the opportunity to undertake a week-long placement across our offices in Marks Tey, Witham and Braintree. This programme provides a unique insight into life within a professional legal environment and offers invaluable experience for your future career.

This work experience will take place between Monday 10th until Friday 14th August 2026. Please ensure you are available on the above week before applying.

The scheme is structured to give you a comprehensive overview of working at a leading East Anglian Law Firm. During your placement, you will have the opportunity to rotate through a range of legal departments, shadow current trainees and gain exposure to Solicitors, Chartered Legal Executives, and Partners. You will also complete a variety of practical tasks designed to reflect the work of a Trainee Solicitor, helping you develop key skills and deepen your understanding of the profession. Holmes & Hills prides itself on its friendly and supportive culture. Throughout your time, colleagues at all levels will be available to guide, answer questions and ensure you have a rewarding experience.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Students currently studying for an LLB (Law Degree).
  • Individuals in their first or second year of university.
  • Availability to commit to one week of work experience on the specified dates.
  • A genuine interest in gaining practical experience within the legal sector.
  • Ambition to secure a Training Contract upon successful completion of your degree within a Regional Law firm.
