Regulatory Services at Barnsley protect the health, safety, and well-being of those who live, work in, and visit the borough, enabling local businesses to comply with their regulatory responsibilities and protecting consumers in the borough. You will be part of a team of EHOs and other professionals who share inspections, investigations, and project work to ensure an even playing field for businesses. As part of your professional studies, you will primarily work within the Pollution Control Team and engage in all aspects of Environmental Health work, gaining a wide, varied knowledge of Environmental Health activities, which will assist in completing your professional qualification and support the Service.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections and investigations of businesses and consumers.
- Carry out project work to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Work primarily with the Pollution Control Team and engage in all aspects of Environmental Health work.
- Commit to working flexibly and engaging in professional development throughout your studies.
Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Environmental Health.
- Committed to completing the CIEH EHO Pathway Qualification within 12 months.
- Applicants in the final year of their degree with pending results also welcome.
