Job Description
Ayrshire Valuation Joint Board is seeking a graduate surveyor with experience in non-domestic rating, who is interested in joining our organisation and helping us build upon our successes in delivering on the Assessor’s statutory functions.

You will be allocated an extremely varied workload, being responsible for the survey and valuation of all relevant lands and heritages for the purposes of the Lands Valuation Acts and the Local Government Finance Act 1992.
You will also be responsible for the discussion and negotiation of appeals with taxpayers and professional agents, preparing cases for presentation to the First-Tier Tribunal and, where appropriate, appearing as an expert witness at such hearings.
We very much recognise the importance of maintaining a positive workplace culture, so if you have a naturally positive, professional, and responsible attitude, coupled with the requisite skills, we would like to hear from you.
- AVJB offers outstanding terms and conditions, such as flexible working, generous annual leave entitlement and enrolment into an enviable local authority pension scheme.
We operate a “blended” model of office & home working, and we are happy to discuss any particular needs of the successful candidate.
