Strategy & Technology Group (STG) – Insurance Actuarial Consulting
You will be part of a multi-disciplined, collaborative, and friendly actuarial consulting team that supports a wide range of clients across the non-life insurance value chain. Aon’s global client base, heightened geopolitical, climate and economic uncertainty, and a market focusing on more data-driven insights, means there is significant growth potential in our consulting opportunities.
STG, as Aon’s global consulting and technology business, has access to Aon’s proprietary data, software, and its global network of insurance industry experts, and is positioned to provide innovative insights into sources of competitive advantage. As an STG Actuarial Consulting graduate, you will be part of a growing team of 45+ actuarial consultants working on a variety of projects, learning from experienced professionals whilst starting your journey towards a professional qualification. The team values outside-the-box thinking and a self-starter approach from day one, with a solid collaborative culture across projects and graduates working directly with senior colleagues. The team prides itself on outstanding technical ability and impactful communication to all levels of stakeholders. You’ll also participate in technical and consulting training workshops to develop solutions that meet clients’ needs and build confidence and experience through client relationships.
Reinsurance Analytics Graduate Programme
Our Reinsurance Analytics team offers catastrophe management, actuarial, rating agency advisory and risk & capital strategy expertise. Whether working with brokers on risk transfer products or on broader analytic and modelling engagements, our 400+ specialists worldwide deliver innovation and thought leadership to clients.
Responsibilities
As an Actuarial Graduate in Reinsurance Analytics, responsibilities include both technical delivery of work and communication of findings to brokers and clients. Key responsibilities include:
- Reinsurance pricing and analysis
- Actuarial model building and testing
- Data preparation and presentation of results and advice to clients and brokers
- Actuarial research and development
Your Development
As a graduate, you’ll be enrolled onto our Launch Programme. The development programme is built around three core elements:
- Business learning: on-the-job learning and experiences enabling you to develop knowledge of your team and solution line
- Centralised learning: UK graduates complete an Aon induction, monthly webinars, business skills training and workshops to build knowledge, confidence, and network
- Professional Qualifications: you will be expected to complete your study towards the Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA). You’ll receive paid study leave, plus a range of study and tuition materials
Your career beyond the Graduate programme
After completing the formal graduate programme, you’ll continue to receive support for technical and business skills, actuarial qualifications, regular performance feedback, and progression opportunities from Associate to Consultant and beyond as you gain experience and take on greater project and client management responsibilities.

Opportunities are available in the Strategy & Technology Group (STG) and Reinsurance Analytics teams. Review information on each team and select your first-choice preferred team if successful. We will try to consider your first-choice where possible, but cannot guarantee it due to role availability. If your first choice is unavailable, we may consider you for the other teams.
Entry Requirements
- Degree: 2:1 (or equivalent) in maths, actuarial science, or another highly numerical degree
- Maths A-level grade A or higher, or equivalent in Maths Scottish Higher or international equivalent
What are we looking for?
- Motivation and ambition to pursue an actuarial career within Reinsurance and complete professional qualifications
- Excellent numerical ability across diverse numerate backgrounds
- Passion and curiosity about the Reinsurance industry and its relation to macroeconomic environments
- Commercial awareness with ability to provide clear client support and guidance
- Effective communication skills to present complex ideas clearly
- A self-starter who can work independently and in a team
Locations
Both roles will be based in London. The first 6 months are in-office to support learning and progression, after which a mix of in-office and client-facing work is possible.
