This approach creates more meaningful connections with consumers, increases consumer trust in the brand, and delivers better outcomes for all stakeholders.
Role Summary and Impact
As a key member of the Connections Planning team, you will drive strategic media planning for Marks & Spencer, a significant Mindshare account encompassing both Food and Fashion, Home & Beauty divisions. M&S Foods is one of the most iconic British brands in the market, with a heritage spanning across 139 years. For M&S Foods, your contributions will boost seasonal campaigns (e.g., Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, Halloween etc.) and reinforce M&S's reputation as a quality food destination. You'll help shape media approaches, from major advertising campaign moments to personalization efforts, including the Sparks app, within this fast‑paced sector.
On the Fashion, Home & Beauty side, you'll elevate brand reputation and drive style perceptions through seasonal collections (Spring/Summer, Autumn/Winter) to continue to drive online growth for the brand. You will support crafting strategic responses across diverse business units, including Womenswear, Menswear, Kidswear, Beauty, Lingerie, and Home.
The Connections Planning team designs innovative media solutions by defining audiences, connections, content, and measurement. This requires deep UK media market knowledge and understanding technology's role in audience targeting and optimization. You will translate consumer trends into actionable media plans, collaborating closely with Strategy, Buying, and Live Planning teams.
A significant part of your role involves supporting senior Connections Planners, Strategic Planning, and Client Leadership. You will gain hands‑on experience planning award‑winning campaigns and working with channel specialists to bring these plans to life effectively.

- Be Extraordinary by Leading Collectively to Inspire transformational Creativity.
- Create an Open environment by Balancing People and Client Experiences by Cultivating Trust.
- Lead Optimistically by Championing Growth and Development to Mobilize the Enterprise.
Prior media/marketing experience is not a pre‑requisite. A combination of "hands‑on" experience and a structured training programme means Intern Account Executives gain a comprehensive knowledge of how a media agency business operates and an understanding that is the cornerstone of a successful career in the media industry.
