Moving to a new, sustainable low-carbon energy world requires knowledge, ambition, and a pioneering spirit. Genesis employs over 550 world-leading engineers around the globe who enable innovative solutions across the traditional hydrocarbon and energy transition sectors every day.
As a 2026 Summer Placement student at Genesis, you will be given the opportunity to broaden your experience in traditional oil and gas and energy transition projects and potentially help to develop internal tools which help enable our engineers every day.
You will be based in either our London or Aberdeen office, where you will have the opportunity to get exposure to a range of software design tools and activities which are used within our industry such as:
- ETAP
- Genesis bespoke in-house tools and calculations such as:
- Renewable Energy Balance Tool
- ADEPT for Cost Estimation (Electrical Modules)
- Develop basic Single Line Diagram Sketches
- Cable Calculations
- Load List Calculations
While at Genesis you will be situated within the UK Operating Centre Electrical Engineering Team, however, you will also get experience collaborating with other disciplines, including:
- Mechanical, Piping and Layouts
- Control, Instrumentation and Telecoms
- Civil/Structural
- Decommissioning
- Safety & Environmental

This role is open to electrically biased engineering students who have completed their penultimate year of study. Applications will close on Sunday, 22nd February at 10 PM. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
