How to prepare for a job interview at Targeted Talent

✨Know Your Numbers

Brush up on your bookkeeping skills, especially with QuickBooks Desktop and Online. Be ready to discuss your experience with full cycle bookkeeping and any specific challenges you've faced. This shows you’re not just familiar with the software but can also handle real-world scenarios.

✨Showcase Your Attention to Detail

Prepare examples that highlight your accuracy in financial data entry and reconciliations. You might want to mention a time when your attention to detail saved a client from a costly mistake. This will demonstrate your value to the firm and their clients.

✨Communicate Clearly

Since communication with management is key, practice explaining complex bookkeeping concepts in simple terms. Think about how you would explain GST/HST or payroll services to someone without a financial background. This will show your ability to connect with clients and colleagues alike.

✨Emphasise Your Problem-Solving Skills

Be prepared to discuss specific problems you've encountered in your previous roles and how you resolved them. Whether it’s a tricky reconciliation or a payroll issue, showcasing your analytical skills will resonate well with the interviewers.
