The SEN / SEND Tutor role
- Provide Maths, English or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD or other additional needs referred to Targeted Provision
- Support those referred by local authorities and schools through flexible, holistic trauma‑informed tutoring and mentoring
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Plan each tutoring session for teaching / tutoring / mentoring
- Provide holistic and engaging sessions that meet the student's needs and advance their educational and social‑emotional journey
- Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on the young person's progress
Qualifications
- Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS/QTLS)
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience
- Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD or other additional needs
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes
- Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain at cost if needed)
- Two professional references
- UK residency and right to work in the UK, even for remote assignments
- Ability to promote health, safety and well‑being of children and follow safeguarding policies at all times
Employment Status
- Worker status; short‑term engagements as they arise
- Contract for service; paid via PAYE
- No set amount of work or expenses coverage
- Insurance covered for work you do for us
- Not a self‑employed tutoring/teaching position
