SEND Tutor and Teacher Role Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years teaching, ideally with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma‑informed way
  • Subjects: Familiarity with teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Qualifications: QTS or QTLS
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS (facilitated if necessary) and 2+ professional references
  • Location: Must be based in the UK with right to work in the UK, even for remote or online roles
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

Send Tutor and Teacher Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide in‑person, online, remote, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other additional educational needs
  • Support pupils and students from KS1 to KS5 (as appropriate), referred by local authorities and schools, by planning and delivering flexible, trauma‑informed tutoring and mentoring
  • Plan lessons, report, and provide regular feedback on student progress
  • Contribute to the mission of raising the standard of education for young people with SEND and other needs such as SEMH, MLD, SLD, and PMLD
