We support pupils and students ranging from KS1 to KS5, referred by local authorities and schools, by planning and delivering flexible, trauma‑informed tutoring and mentoring. The role offers professional growth through the TES CPD suite, a dedicated mentoring program, support from a SEND support team, community events, and a referral programme for successful tutor referrals.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and report lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress.
- Design and deliver lessons in core subjects (Maths, English, or Science) tailored to the individual needs of learners with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or PMLD.
- Collaborate closely with schools and local authorities to support pupils and students effectively.
- Maintain a safe learning environment and demonstrate safeguarding knowledge.
- Engage with the SEND support team and participate in community and company events.
- Utilise a trauma‑informed approach when working with children and young people.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of teaching experience, ideally with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD.
- Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
- Enhanced DBS (facilitated if required) and at least two professional references.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and the creation of a safe learning environment.
Location & Remuneration
- Location: Bridgwater, Somerset. Must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote/online work.
- Remuneration: £28 - £35 per hour (contract basis).
