We areon a mission to transform the quality of education provided toyoung people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (SpecialEducation Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such asSEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We areincreasingly supporting children and young people with MLD(Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe LearningDifficulties).
We are looking for SEN / SENDtutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives ofdisengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Essex.
At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standardof educational support offered to vulnerable young people in theUK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supportedthroughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND SupportSpecialists.
This role is perfect for qualifiedSEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work via 1:1 tutoring withchildren and young people with a variety of learning needs, in acreative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to raisetheir engagement and drastically improve the outlook of theireducational journey.

The SEN / SEND Tutorrole
- This role willinvolve providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to youngpeople with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND),Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Moderate andSevere Learning Difficulties (MLD / SLD), or other AdditionalEducational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
- These young people are referred to us by localauthorities and schools and will require some level of support intheir educational and social-emotional journey
- If selected, your role will be to provide this supportvia flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring andmentoring
SEN / SENDTutor Tasks And Responsibilities
- Planning each session of teaching / tutoring /mentoring
- Providing the young person withholistic and engaging sessions which meet their needs and advancetheir educational and social-emotional journey
- Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on theyoung person\’s progress
SEN / SEND Tutorrequirements
- Professional Teaching Qualifications (Qualified TeacherStatus / QTS / QTLS)
- Minimum 2 years teachingexperience
- Experience working with youngpeople with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and / or other AdditionalEducational Needs
- Experience, knowledge andunderstanding of safeguarding processes
- Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost ifneeded)
- Two professional references
- You must be based in the UK with the right to work in theUK, even for remote / online assignments
It is a strict requirement that you have the ability towork in a way that promotes the health, safety and wellbeing ofchildren and young people and follow safeguarding policies andprocedures at all times.
SEN /SEND Tutor Employment Status
- This position involves engaging with us as a Worker, toprovide short-term engagements as and when they arise
- You will work through a contract for service and will bepaid via PAYE
- We do not offer any set amountof work nor expenses coverage
- Our insurancecovers the work you do for us
- This is not aself-employed tutoring / self-employed teaching position
