SEND Tutor and Teacher role requirements:

  • Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
  • Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
  • Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor and Teacher role and responsibilities:

  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
  • Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress

  • This position involves engaging with us as a Worker, via temporary and fixed term contracts as and when they arise

  • Individuals with highly relevant experience from teaching background often have worked in the following roles: SENDCo (Special Education Needs Coordinator), SLD / MLD Teacher, Autism / ADHD Support Teacher, Intervention Specialist / Teacher / Tutor, Ex-Teacher
  • Other highly relevant roles from therapeutic and learning support background include: Learning Support Assistant (LSA) / Teaching Assistant (TA), Educational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist (SALT), Educational Psychologist (EP), Inclusion Coordinator
