SEND Tutor and Teacher role requirements:
- Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
- Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
- Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
- Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
- Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
The SEND Tutor and Teacher role and responsibilities:
- Provide in person, online / remote, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
- Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties). We welcome tutors from all backgrounds - our learners come from diverse communities and our organisation must reflect and represent their experiences.
All candidates must pass through our safer recruitment process to ensure their suitability to work with children and young people.
SEND Tutor and Teacher employment status:
This position involves engaging with us as a Worker, via temporary and fixed term contracts as and when they arise. You will work through a contract for service and will be paid via PAYE. This is not a self-employed tutoring / self-employed teaching position.
