We thrive on innovation and the ability to adapt, and we are looking for a Senior Business Analyst who has successfully delivered across a range of project types and complexities and is ready to take a leading role in driving impactful change. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be instrumental in shaping and delivering strategic initiatives. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation, translating business needs into clear, actionable solutions that are commercially sound and aligned with Target’s strategic objectives.

In this senior capacity, you will lead the business analysis effort and your work will involve deep analysis and documentation of business processes, enabling the development of effective, fit-for-purpose solutions. The majority of this role will be working from home, however, there will be an expectation to attend the Cardiff office as and when required (usually a minimum of once a month).

More Specifically, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Act as part of the Solution Owner Group, ensuring proposed systems and services align with business needs and Target’s strategic goals.
  • Manage multiple deliverables with precision, maintaining a strong focus on quality and outcomes.
  • Lead the capture and analysis of both functional and non-functional business requirements, ensuring clarity, completeness, and traceability.
  • Provide or validate cost estimates based on the Solution Definition Document, in collaboration with the Solution Consultant and monitor these estimates throughout the change lifecycle, escalating any significant variances to the Project Manager and Team Lead as needed.
  • Assist in shaping system and service solutions ensuring strategic alignment.
  • Support project scoping and planning using deep domain expertise.
  • Lead requirements gathering and documentation for new and enhanced business solutions.
  • Develop detailed process flows and solution documents in line with Target’s standards.
  • Ensure requirements are captured to meet delivery objectives and adhere to Target’s methodology.
  • Serve as the escalation point and expert, providing guidance and support to other analysts working on the project.
  • Approve technical documentation and test plans to ensure quality and completeness.
  • Identify product gaps and contribute to roadmap planning through feedback to Product Management.
  • Maintain key project documentation and support governance through risk, issue, and change tracking.
  • Support the Team Lead to drive a culture of continuous improvement, engagement, motivation, and clear communication.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues, sharing knowledge to support their growth and capability.

What we are Looking For!

You are someone who has:

  • Proven experience in business analysis, including requirements re-engineering, stakeholder engagement, and process mapping, with a strong foundation in core BA practices.
  • A track record of delivering complex projects and leading analysis efforts.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in key tools such as Microsoft Office and JIRA, enabling efficient documentation, collaboration, and workflow management.
  • Experience mentoring and developing less experienced Business Analysts, supporting their growth and contributing to a high-performing team culture.

The following experience would be desirable, but not essential for the role:

  • Industry experience in Financial Services, offering valuable context and insight into sector-specific challenges and regulatory environments.
  • Exposure to multiple delivery methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile, with the flexibility to tailor approaches to suit programme and project needs.
  • Understanding of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Software as a Service (SaaS) models, enhancing awareness of diverse service delivery environments.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance-driven change, supporting governance, risk management, and audit readiness.
