The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.

We are looking to recruit experienced Housing Support Workers to join our bank pool working across our Rotherham services. You will have experience of working with individuals with a complexity of needs, supporting individuals to live more independently and increasing their opportunities of moving on to more appropriate, longer-term accommodation.

The service operates Mon-Fri 9-9pm and Sat 9-3pm.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and deliver person-centred support, identifying aspirations and needs.
  • Case work a small caseload of individuals focusing on successful, independent move on.
  • Develop professional relationships with a range of external agencies to collaboratively deliver support.
  • Actively engage with clients on a 1:1 basis, promote activities and meaningful use of time.
  • Support and motivate clients, encouraging them to achieve personal goals.

Housing Management

  • Work collaboratively with RMBC housing teams to aid positive move on.
  • Support clients to maintain and sustain their accommodation whilst working towards more independent accommodation.
  • Support clients to complete and understand their occupancy and related documentation including move on applications, tenancy agreements, property inventory, applications for housing benefit.
  • Support clients to maximise their income, ensuring that housing and other welfare benefit claims are submitted and maintained.
  • Clean and prepare rooms ready for relet.
  • Manage accommodation adhering to Health and Safety regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of providing support to vulnerable people in a housing environment.
  • Experience of working with individuals who have multiple and complex needs.
  • The ability to develop positive and proactive working relationships with hard to engage clients.
  • Experience of delivering Trauma Informed support.
  • Knowledge of the Housing benefits and welfare benefit system.
  • Experience of Safety Planning / Risk Assessment and Support Planning.
  • Basic IT skills and effective case work.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Enhanced DBS.
  • The right to work in the UK.
