The Purchasing Assistant will help the buying team with the purchasing of all medicines and products as required. They will be responsible for managing stock levels, maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers, and finding the best quality products at the lowest prices.

As a Purchasing Assistant your responsibilities will include, though will not be limited to:

  • Maintain your training record and ensure training for your job role is complete as identified on the training matrix

  • Sourcing of pharmaceuticals and lab consumables for our non-sterile manufacturing labs and warehouse

  • Adding new products to our database in keeping with regulatory requirements

  • Maintain and update stock reports

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and guidelines for unlicensed medicines.

  • Coordinate with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure smooth delivery of products and service

  • Working well as part of a busy team and building relationships with suppliers

  • End to end ownership of supply cycle, from placing PO to chasing discrepancies

  • Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices

  • Experience in procurement, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
