The Role
As a Business Consultant, you'll sit at the heart of solution shaping across Target. You’ll partner with Product Owners, Sales, and Bid teams to design high-quality, commercially strong solutions that align with client needs and product roadmaps. You’ll also lead client workshops, uncover requirements, and ensure the right expertise is involved at every stage of the process. This role is ideal for someone with a Business Analyst background who's confident engaging with senior stakeholders and comfortable navigating complex environments.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Bid, Sales & Solution Support
- Working with Product Owners to craft roadmap-aligned solutions
- Supporting bids and proposals with product insight and solution narratives
- Attending bid qualification sessions to define scope and requirements
- Facilitating client workshops to clarify needs and test ideas
- Ensuring the right SMEs are involved throughout solution development
- Client Engagement & Requirements
- Leading requirements gathering and documentation
- Presenting insights, impacts and solutions to internal teams and client stakeholders (including board level)
- Building trusted, long-term client relationships
- Understanding client strategies, KPIs and challenges to shape value-driven solutions
- Solution Design & Analysis
- Translating requirements into structured business and functional design
- Ensuring solutions are holistic, scalable and aligned to scope
- Identifying risks, gaps and dependencies early
- Conducting analysis to find process and journey improvement opportunities
- Producing as-is and future-state process maps
- Collaboration & Alignment
- Working closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Compliance and Commercial teams
- Feeding market and client insights into product strategy
- Coaching colleagues on solution design and client needs
- Continuous Improvement & Governance
- Supporting post-project reviews and best-practice development
- Helping evolve discovery and solution-shaping methodologies
Requirements
Who You Are
- You have:
- A strong Business Analyst or Business Consulting background
- Experience capturing, analysing and translating client requirements
- Exposure to bids, pre-sales or solution-design processes
- Excellent workshop facilitation and discovery skills
- Confident stakeholder engagement skills — including senior forums
- Experience in complex, regulated or financial-services environments (FCA desirable)
- Strong understanding of business processes and digital system capabilities
- Commercial awareness and an eye for emerging market trends
- You’re someone who:
