TARCG is excited to partner with a prestigious aviation company to recruit a Head of Avionics to join their growing team at their Sywell Aerodrome headquarters. This location serves as the hub for their heavy maintenance operations, supporting a diverse fleet of VIP and Air Ambulance aircraft, including AW109 and AW169 variants.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining the safety, quality, and operational efficiency of the aircraft, ensuring high standards are met across the maintenance department, as well as assist in the management of the engineering department.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise B2 maintenance activities and manage teams to ensure tasks are performed safely and effectively.
- Carry out and certify aircraft maintenance tasks in line with industry regulations and standards.
- Perform line maintenance activities and defect rectifications across various aircraft types.
- Lead and promote a culture of safety and quality within the department, ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Provide support and guidance to other engineers, contributing to team development and efficiency.
- UK CAA B2 Licence is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance is required.
- AW109 and/or AW169 type ratings are preferred, but not essential.
- Strong experience in line maintenance, defect rectification, and supervisory roles.
- A solid understanding of industry safety protocols, procedures, and quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Competitive salary (£70k+ basic depending on experience).
- Overtime opportunities for additional earning potential.
- On-call allowance for availability outside standard working hours.
- 20 days of leave plus 8 bank holidays and 3 extra days off at Christmas.
