TARCG has an exciting opportunity for experienced Check Managers to join a leading UK-Based MRO Clients base maintenance operations team in Birmingham.

As a leading provider in the UK’s Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) sector, they are at a pivotal point of growth and seek experienced professionals to uphold their commitment to delivering world-class maintenance services.

In this role as an Aircraft Check Manager, you will play a crucial part in overseeing and managing allocated maintenance tasks. Your responsibilities will include ensuring regulatory compliance, leading team members, completing projects within set timeframes, and maintaining the technical integrity of all work performed under your supervision.

You will work closely with the Base Maintenance Management team to achieve operational goals and drive superior standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Maintenance Tasks: Oversee assigned maintenance projects, ensuring all are completed to specification and within schedule.
  • Lead Your Team: Provide clear direction and support to your designated team, ensuring tasks are allocated and accountability is maintained.
  • Ensure Compliance: Issue certificates of release for specified aircraft types in line with the QA044 Staff Authorisation Document.
  • Daily Reporting: Keep progress logs up-to-date and provide daily briefings to senior management and team members.
  • Problem Solving: Devise cost-effective solutions to meet maintenance targets while staying within budgetary limits.
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure work areas are organised and meet all housekeeping and tool audit requirements.
  • Drive Performance: Conduct formal appraisals and identify areas for training and further development.
  • Promote Health & Safety: Adhere to all current Health & Safety procedures, maintaining a strong duty of care for your team.
  • Support Audits: Contribute to quality audit initiatives and assist with effective closure plans for any identified issues.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Category B1 or B2 Licensed Engineer with C certification specific to aircraft type.
  • Essential Type Ratings: 737 and A320, with additional B787, B777, and A330 ratings being advantageous.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Base Maintenance as a B1 and/or B2 certifying engineer.
  • In-depth Knowledge: Proficient in Part 145 Aviation Legislation.
  • Eligibility: Must have the right to work in the UK.
  • Key Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities, with a flexible and proactive approach to work in a dynamic environment.
