We are currently recruiting for a Data Protection Advisor to join our Team!
Contract Type: Part-Time, Permanent
Working Hours: 24 hours / 3 Days Per Week
Location: Armagh
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Data Protection Advisor to oversee data protection compliance and governance across our operations in both Ireland and Northern Ireland. This is a key governance role requiring strong regulatory knowledge, technical understanding, and the ability to work across multiple jurisdictions. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with UK GDPR, EU GDPR, PECR, and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, while supporting the organisation in maintaining the highest standards of privacy, confidentiality, and secure data handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead data protection compliance across the organisation
- Manage DPIAs, SARs and data breach processes
- Maintain and oversee Records of Processing Activities (ROPA)
- Liaise with regulatory authorities including ICO and DPC
- Support information security governance and cyber security controls
- Liaise with IT to ensure systems and infrastructure support secure data processing
- Assist with cyber security risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response processes
- Deliver data protection training and policy guidance
- Support internal audits and external regulatory reviews
What We Need From You
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Data Protection, Privacy, or Information Governance role
- Strong knowledge of UK/EU GDPR, PECR, and Irish Data Protection Legislation
- Experience managing DPIAs, SAR, and Data breach incidents
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Understanding of confidentiality and secure data handling
- Full right to work in UK
- Full EU Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
- Strong understanding of IT systems and information security principles
- Experience working with cyber security controls and governance
- Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, or similar information security frameworks
