We are currently recruiting for a Housing Support Worker (Maternity Cover) to join our Support Services Team!
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:30
Location: Southern Area
Job Summary: The Housing Support Worker supports individuals to sustain their tenancies and prevent homelessness while helping them to live independently within the community. They will assess the needs and risks of their service users and act accordingly and will assist their service users in setting and attaining realistic and achievable targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- To carry a case load of service users and carry out all duties as required of a project worker role in the community.
- To work in partnership with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
- To be available to work at times appropriate to the changing needs of the service user and for the efficient use of staff resources.
- When necessary and as appropriate visit service users in their home or place of residence.
- To assist in the assessment of needs and risks as relevant to each Service User and to assist to set and attain realistic and achievable targets.
- To monitor and record the service users progress by a process of regular review.
- To provide a range of services appropriate to the individuals needs.
- To ensure that Service Users develop the skills needed to attain, maintain and sustain stable tenancies.
- To promote Service User involvement and active participation in the Project.
- To assist in the facilitation of Service User Workshops and consultation groups.
- To work in a multi-agency manner with relevant professionals.
- To act as an advocate for Service Users as appropriate.
What We're Looking For:
- A minimum of one years work experience, working within housing or social care.
- Proven ability to effectively support and work as a member of a team.
- Full EU Driving licence and access to a car.
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- Ability to cope with changing priorities and able to multitask.
- Flexible approach to work according to the needs of the service.
- Satisfactory Access NI check.
