We have a casual Healthcare Assistant position available at Darfield Community Hospital. As a casual position, there are no guaranteed hours or days; you will be covering sick (on call) and annual leave. Shifts are across Monday - Sunday; mornings, afternoons and nights.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Registered Nurse
- Assisting in the kitchen to prepare meals
- Assisting the patients with personal cares, activities
- Helping to maintain a high standard of cleaning in the hospital.
Darfield Community Hospital has 11 beds for providing palliative care, transition to home and respite care of the elderly for our local community. We are a friendly small team in a rural hospital setting, comprising Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, a Gardener/ Maintenance person, allied health involvement, Older Persons Health and Palliative care support.
About You
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage well with others
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Have an empathetic and caring nature
- Ideally experience as a Healthcare Assistant or similar
- Previous food preparation experience is desirable.
