Tara Recruitment is supporting a well-regarded secondary school in the Telford area seeking a dedicated SENCO to join their team from September for the Autumn Term, with the potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for a committed SENCO to play a key role in ensuring that students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive the support, guidance, and provision required to achieve their full potential. Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating the school's SEND provision.
- Identifying and assessing students with additional learning needs.
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing SEND support plans and interventions.
- Working closely with teaching staff to ensure high-quality inclusive teaching practices.
- Liaising with parents, carers, governors, and external agencies to support student progress and wellbeing.
- Managing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and ensuring statutory requirements are met.
- Monitoring the progress and attainment of students with SEND and evaluating the impact of interventions.
- Supporting staff through guidance, training, and best practice in inclusive education.

Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- The National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or a willingness to work towards it.

- Experience managing EHCPs and working with external agencies.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- The ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, parents, and external professionals.
- A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
