Tara Professional Education are partnering with a highly regarded and inclusive primary school in South London to appoint an exceptional SEND Primary Teacher to lead its Reception-aged SEND provision from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher who is passionate about inclusive practice and is ready to become a key member of the school's Early Years team, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.

The Role

  • This is much more than a classroom teaching position. The successful candidate will play a leading role in delivering high-quality Early Years provision for pupils with additional needs, helping to create an engaging, nurturing and structured environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential.
  • Lead a specialist Reception-aged SEND class.
  • Deliver creative, engaging and highly differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils with a range of SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language needs, communication difficulties and a variety of developmental and learning needs.
  • Create an inclusive classroom that promotes communication, independence, confidence and curiosity.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, the SEND team and senior leaders.
  • Take an active role in developing and leading the Early Years SEND provision.

About You

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic and reflective teacher who:
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
  • Has experience teaching within Early Years or Key Stage 1.
  • Has a strong understanding of inclusive teaching and supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Has experience supporting children with Autism, communication needs and a range of additional learning needs.
  • Is confident leading a team and helping to develop high-quality Early Years practice.
  • Builds strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Has high expectations alongside a warm, nurturing and child-centred approach.
