Daily Supply & Long-Term Supply Opportunities
Immediate Start | North West London
£160–£220 PAYE per day (dependent on experience & needs)
We are currently recruiting adaptable and committed SEND Cover Teachers to support a range of specialist schools across North West London on both a daily supply and long-term supply basis. These opportunities are ideal for qualified teachers who are confident working within SEND environments and are looking for either flexible day-to-day work or more consistent long-term placements within specialist provisions.
The schools we work with support pupils with a variety of additional needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health)
- Communication and sensory processing needs
As a SEND Cover Teacher, you may be covering:
- Pre-planned lessons across specialist settings
- Class teacher absence
- Short-term sickness or emergency cover
- Long-term teaching roles across primary, secondary, and post-16 SEND provisions
The Role
As a SEND Cover Teacher, responsibilities may include:
- Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons within SEND environments
- Managing classroom behaviour through calm, structured approaches
- Working closely with SEND Teaching Assistants and support staff
- Adapting learning to meet EHCP targets and individual pupil needs
- Supporting pupils with varying communication styles and developmental levels
- Maintaining safeguarding and behaviour expectations at all times
Some placements may involve highly structured sensory environments, while others may focus more heavily on SEMH and behavioural support.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking SEND Cover Teachers who:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Have previous experience within SEND, SEN, PRU, SEMH, or specialist education settings
- Are flexible, resilient, and confident adapting quickly to new classrooms
- Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Are comfortable covering a range of subjects where required
Mainstream teachers with strong behaviour management and a genuine interest in SEND are also encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- QTS / PGCE / equivalent teaching qualification
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Tara)
- Minimum 2 years of professional references
- Availability for immediate or upcoming work
- Ability to attend registration/interview with Tara Education
