We are currently recruiting for an experienced Press Brake Operator to join an established engineering and sheet-metal manufacturing business based in Danbury, Essex. This is a permanent opportunity for someone with previous experience operating CNC press brake machinery within a sheet-metal fabrication or engineering environment.

You will be responsible for producing accurate, high-quality components from engineering drawings while maintaining excellent standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating CNC press brake machinery to bend and form sheet-metal components
  • Setting and operating machinery to produce components to specification
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Selecting and changing tooling where required
  • Adjusting machine settings to achieve accurate bends and dimensions
  • Carrying out first-off and in-process quality checks
  • Working with materials including mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
  • Checking finished components using appropriate measuring equipment
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
  • Working to production schedules and maintaining quality standards

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Press Brake Operator, Press Brake Setter/Operator, CNC Press Brake Operator, CNC Folder Operator or similar
  • Experience working within a sheet-metal, fabrication or engineering environment
  • The ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Experience operating CNC press brake machinery
  • Good attention to detail and a strong focus on quality
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a production team
  • A reliable and positive approach to work
  • Setter experience would be advantageous but is not essential if you have strong Press Brake operating experience.
