About Us
We’re building the world’s leading cross-border fintech for emerging markets - empowering families, fueling local economies, and changing how millions access financial services. Since our launch in 2019, we have transformed how money moves across borders with our operations spanning 6 out of 7 continents and covering both the busiest and most underserved (remittance) corridors. We tapped into a massive shift - from banks to phones - bringing digital finance to places where traditional systems never reached. The next stage of growth will fuel a network of services and products especially designed to make money more accessible to diaspora communities including local cards, and additional savings and payments features.
We’re growing fast, backed by world-class investors, and scaling a product that blends real world impact with cutting edge fintech innovation.
Here’s a little more:
Founded by Harvard grads and 3-time founders who previously built Segovia (acquired) and GiveDirectly (>$300M revenue, fastest-growing NGO in the world)
Backed by top investors including Spark Capital, Canaan, Reid Hoffman, Breyer Capital, Unbound, Wamda, and more
Built by global top performers from Bain, Google, McKinsey, Uber, Checkout, Bolt, and beyond - we move fast, stay humble, and care deeply about our mission
Truly global team - 250+ people, 50+ nationalities, 50+ languages
Guided by our values - ownership, impact, humility, and heart - in deed, not just word
The Role
India is the biggest remittance market with over $130 billion a year flowing home to it, from everywhere: engineers in the Bay Area and Sydney, cabbies in Toronto, construction crews in Dubai, shopkeepers in Leicester, students in Berlin. From Punjabis, Gujaratis, Tamils, Malayalis and Telugus. From people wiring $3,000 a month to a Mumbai mortgage and people sending $80 to a village in Bihar. Your job is to win this market.
You are someone who gets excited by the nuances of the Indian diaspora and how to reach each group, and who wants to own the P&L, the regulatory landscape and pricing at the same time. If you find the price sensitivity of each cohort exciting, and "why do Malayali nurses cluster in specific hospital systems, and what does that mean for acquisition?" as interesting as "what's RBI's latest remittance policy and which banks make the best partners," this is it.
As the GM, you own the P&L, and set pricing. For customer growth, you decide which communities to acquire and in what order. Know the RBI's rules well enough to see the openings inside them, not just the limits. A Gujarati family in New Jersey and a Punjabi trucker in Brampton got abroad through completely different networks, and reaching them takes completely different channels.
Reports to the Head of South Asia. Builds a team of FX Advisors in India and growth managers in sending markets. The face of India inside and outside the company. Total ownership. Be your own CEO.
What You'll Own
The P&L. Volume, gross profit and CAC across every India corridor. Not influence, own. A miss is your miss. A beat is your win.
Strategy and sequencing. Which sender markets, which communities, which channels, in what order. US, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia and UAE to start. Build the plan, defend it to leadership, execute it.
Pricing. India is the most rate-sensitive, most competitive remittance market in the world, up against competitors who reprice daily. Set FX and fee strategy corridor by corridor.
The regulatory and partner landscape. RBI rules, bank partnerships, payout rails. Know the terrain cold and own the local relationships.
Product. Obsess over UX and the services NRIs actually need. Closer to the customer than anyone in the company, and what you hear feeds straight into product, pricing and customer support.
The diaspora puzzle. Community partnerships, temples and gurdwaras and churches, cricket leagues, student associations, remittance-heavy employers, influencers, festivals (Diwali is a season, not a day). Get in front of each community authentically, and cheaply.
The team. Hire, coach and retain people in India and in sending markets. Small, dense, fast.
Who You Are
10 to 15 years in high-growth environments: startups, operations, consulting, finance, fintech. Has owned a number and talks about it the way owners do.
Diaspora-fluent. Real knowledge of and networks in the Indian diaspora, and real curiosity about it. Migration patterns, community structures, who sends money to whom and why.
Commercially sharp. Holds pricing, unit economics and CAC math in their head, and works the data directly. Excel or Sheets required, SQL a real plus.
A hustler with judgment. Closes a bank partnership Monday, reviews corridor margins Tuesday, shows up at a community event in Jackson Heights on Saturday. Likes all three.
A regulatory realist. Understands (or can quickly master) RBI rules and the compliance realities of moving money into India. Treats compliance as a partner, not an obstacle.
Multilingual, ideally. Fluent in English. Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu or Malayalam are genuine assets.
Location: London or Dubai. Regular travel to India and sending markets is part of the job.
Why This Role
India is the largest remittance market in the world, and winning it moves the whole company forward. This role owns that outcome, with the authority and the accountability that come with it. It also drives real value for the customers: Immigrants work hard for this money, and every basis point saved goes home.
