Role Purpose
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach assigned class together with associated preparation and correction
- Play a part in developing school curriculum as appropriate to the School Improvement Plan and other identified areas
- Assess, record and report on the work of pupils
- Provide advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education
- Promote and safeguard the health, welfare and safety of pupils
- Work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals
- Undertake appropriate and agreed continuing professional development
- Participate in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual pupil review
- Contribute to community and corporate aspects of school life
Essential
- A degree (B.Ed/PGCE/PGDE) or Diploma in Primary Teaching
- Full registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (or an assurance that full registration will be forthcoming)
