Job Purpose
GRADE: 4D
As a Cook Supervisor, you will manage unit operations to ensure specified service delivery. You will supervise staff, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety and legislation. You will also cover sickness absences while maintaining cost-effectiveness and aiding the manager in meeting service requirements.

Responsibilities
- Managing staff and ensuring that all Health and Safety and appropriate legislation are complied with
- Managing daily administrative tasks, including ensuring the cost-effectiveness of the unit
- Performing any other duties as specified by the Area Catering Manager or Unit Manager
- Overseeing food preparation, cooking, and serving, and managing cleaning materials for the unit
- Promoting and coordinating the implementation of the whole School Approach to Food in Schools and BEBL Requirements
- Possess food hygiene certificates (Elementary, Intermediate, and RIPHH) and Allergen Awareness Training or obtain within 6 months
- Display a wide range of catering and culinary knowledge with plans to achieve SVQ Level 2
- Have previous experience in budget and staff management within a production kitchen environment
- Be able to work under pressure and in a physically demanding environment
- Have excellent cookery production skills
- Have good organisational, communication, and IT skills, and be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work
Salary, Hours and Benefits
The annual salary advertised is for a full-time role, based on 35.0–37.0 hours per week. If the position is part-time or term-time (38 or 39 weeks per year), the annual salary will be pro-rated accordingly, including a number of additional weeks for annual leave entitlement when the position is term-time.
