Press break operator Location: Danbury, Essex – CM3 Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Salary: £16 - £18 an hour, depending on experience Hours: Monday–Friday, 40hr per week The Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced Press Brake Operator to join an established engineering and sheet-metal manufacturing business based in Danbury, Essex. This is a permanent opportunity for someone with previous experience operating CNC press brake machinery within a sheet-metal fabrication or engineering environment. You will be responsible for producing accurate, high-quality components from engineering drawings while maintaining excellent standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities * Operating CNC press brake machinery to bend and form sheet-metal components * Setting and operating machinery to produce components to specification * Reading and interpreting engineering drawings * Selecting and changing tooling where required * Adjusting machine settings to achieve accurate bends and dimensions * Carrying out first-off and in-process quality checks * Working with materials including mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium * Checking finished components using appropriate measuring equipment * Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment * Working to production schedules and maintaining quality standards The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have: * Previous experience as a Press Brake Operator, Press Brake Setter/Operator, CNC Press Brake Operator, CNC Folder Operator or similar * Experience working within a sheet-metal, fabrication or engineering environment * The ability to read and understand engineering drawings * Experience operating CNC press brake machinery * Good attention to detail and a strong focus on quality * The ability to work independently and as part of a production team * A reliable and positive approach to work Setter experience would be advantageous but is not essential if you have strong Press Brake operating experience.
