Hakkasan Group, home to the internationally acclaimed Hakkasan and Yauatcha restaurants, is seeking an experienced and hands-on People Manager to lead the people function during a 12-month maternity cover period. This is a high-impact, operational role with end-to-end responsibility across employee relations, recruitment, people operations, payroll coordination and people-related financial planning. Working closely with senior leaders and managers, you’ll ensure people practices are legally compliant, commercially effective and aligned with our values.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the lead people partner for the business, providing pragmatic, legally compliant advice across all people matters.
- Manage the full employee relations lifecycle, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance and absence management, supporting managers through formal processes.
- Build strong relationships with General Managers and senior leaders, maintaining a visible and trusted on-site presence.
- Deliver end-to-end recruitment aligned with business priorities and budgets, including interviews, onboarding and workforce planning.
- Plan and deliver ad-hoc recruitment initiatives such as assessment days, open days and targeted hiring activity when required.
- Oversee people operations and administration, including starters, leavers, contracts, right-to-work compliance and HR systems.
- Work closely with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of people changes.
- Champion onboarding, engagement and values-led initiatives that support a positive and inclusive culture.
- Support ad-hoc people projects and continuous improvement initiatives, including the development and optimisation of people systems.
- Ensure compliance with UK employment law, GDPR, internal policies and audit requirements, providing people insights to support decision-making.
About You
- Ideally 5+ years’ experience in a generalist HR / People role, preferably within hospitality or a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, applied pragmatically and consistently.
- Proven experience managing employee relations cases end to end.
- Confident, credible people partner able to coach, influence and challenge managers constructively.
- Highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable managing competing priorities.
- Calm, professional and solutions-focused, with strong judgement and discretion.
