The role

As an SIA-licensed Campus Security Officer you’ll safeguard students, staff and visitors, ensuring that every building and outdoor area remains a safe, welcoming environment. You’ll patrol the grounds, control access, respond to incidents and keep accurate reports, working as part of a close-knit team that prides itself on professionalism and calm decision-making.

What you’ll do

  • Conduct proactive foot and vehicle patrols, quickly identifying risks.
  • Manage access points, check IDs and welcome visitors.
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies and suspicious activity, coordinating with Police or Fire Service when required.
  • Complete incident logs and daily shift reports to a high written standard.
  • Look after security assets (CCTV, alarms, radios) and flag any faults.
  • Provide a reassuring, approachable presence for the campus community.

What you’ll bring

  • SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guard licence (or the commitment to obtain one – we can help).
  • SIA CCTV Licence preferred but training can be given.
  • UK driving licence and your own transport.
  • Confident, diplomatic communication skills – written and face-to-face.
  • Ability to stay composed under pressure and think on your feet.
  • Good level of physical fitness for regular patrols.
  • Experience in education, corporate or military/forces security is an advantage.
