Our client is a well-established independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in central Manchester. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join their well-established and supportive tax team which has a strong reputation for delivering expert advice across a broad range of tax matters. They are looking for a motivated tax professional to manage a diverse portfolio of corporate clients and provide high-quality advisory and compliance services. Clients range from sole traders and business start-ups to multi-million-pound limited companies and partnerships. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual looking to take the next step in their career within a growing, supportive, and professional environment.
Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA and/or CTA qualified.
- Minimum of 5 years' corporation tax experience in a professional practice.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience managing client relationships and handling a portfolio independently.
- Ability to mentor and support junior team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of corporate clients, including Owner-Managed Businesses (OMBs), SMEs, and larger corporate groups.
- Oversee corporate tax compliance, ensuring timely and accurate tax return submissions, and advising clients on payments including quarterly instalment payments.
- Advise on tax planning opportunities, including corporate structuring, R&D tax relief, capital allowances, and other incentives.
- Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients and manage tax risk and compliance matters.
- Provide support on more complex tax advisory projects, tax due diligence, share valuations, and international tax matters.
- Develop and mentor junior team members, supporting their technical and professional growth.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for tax matters.
- Stay up to date with tax legislation.
- Ensure that assignments are completed within budget and all parties are kept informed of overruns.
- Manage WIP and billing process on your portfolio of clients.
