An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Family Paralegal to join a specialist Family and Childcare team. This role would suit an individual with a genuine interest in Family Law who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and established practice. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of publicly funded matters, including Care Proceedings, Child Protection cases, Domestic Abuse matters and wider Family Law work.

The Role

  • Assisting solicitors with Family and Childcare matters
  • Supporting Care Proceedings and Children Act cases
  • Assisting with Domestic Abuse and Injunction applications
  • Preparing legal documentation and correspondence
  • Liaising with clients, local authorities, courts, experts and third parties
  • Drafting attendance notes and maintaining accurate file records
  • Supporting legal aid applications and compliance procedures
  • Managing client enquiries and providing a high standard of client care
  • Undertaking legal research and general case preparation

The Candidate

  • Previous Paralegal, Legal Assistant or Family Law experience is desirable
  • A genuine interest in Family and Childcare Law is essential
  • Experience of legal aid work would be highly advantageous
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work with vulnerable clients in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Confident managing competing priorities within a busy team environment
