We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plant Fitter to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the routine servicing, diagnostic fault‑finding, and mechanical repair of a modern fleet of heavy and light plant machinery. Whether working from our fully equipped depot or traveling to customer sites, you will ensure all equipment remains safe and operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, scheduled servicing, and preventative maintenance on plant vehicles and machinery.
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults efficiently.
- Fix a wide range of machinery including excavators, dumpers, rollers, and small tools.
- Ensure all completed work strictly complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations, keeping accurate maintenance paperwork.
- Provide technical advice and professional, face‑to‑face support to our site team.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience working as a Plant Fitter, Heavy Mechanic, or Field Service Engineer.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Machinery, or Heavy Vehicle (HGV) Technology.
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and diagnostic tools.
- A full, clean UK driving licence is required for mobile/field‑based roles.
- A reliable team player with a flexible attitude toward overtime and independent problem‑solving skills.
- Desirable: an active CSCS card is highly advantageous.
