This is a full-time, on-site Skilled Groundworkers role based in the West Midlands. The Skilled Groundworker will carry out day-to-day groundworks activities such as excavations, trenching, laying foundations, drainage, and preparing sub-bases for concrete, paving, and other surfaces. The role includes assisting with landscaping tasks, including preparing ground, planting, turfing, and maintaining trees and green areas as required by specific projects. The Groundworker will operate hand tools and small plant, follow site plans and instructions from supervisors, and work collaboratively with other trades on site. The role also involves adhering to all health and safety procedures, maintaining a tidy work area, and completing tasks to agreed quality and time standards.

Qualifications

  • Valid CSCS or CSCS Card demonstrating appropriate site safety and competency certification.
  • Strong experience in Groundworks, including excavation, drainage, foundations, and general site preparation.
  • Practical knowledge of Landscaping and Trees, including ground preparation, planting, and basic maintenance.
  • Ability to read and follow site drawings, method statements, and instructions accurately.
  • Good awareness of health and safety regulations and safe working practices on construction sites.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of an on-site team in varying weather conditions.
  • Previous experience in a similar Skilled Groundworker or construction site role is highly desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport would be an advantage for travelling to different sites.
