We’re seeking an exceptional SEO Manager to join our SEO team, offering the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of clients across various sectors. This role involves leading on client strategy, contributing meaningfully to new business pitches, managing and developing junior team members. The SEO Manager is expected to be a go-to expert in SEO best practices and an active contributor to the wider team’s knowledge and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management
- Line manage one direct report, supporting their professional development, wellbeing, and performance through regular 1-2-1s and structured feedback.
- Brief, delegate and oversee work from direct reports, ensuring quality and consistency across client deliverables.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning by sharing industry updates, emerging trends, and new tools with the SEO team.
- Support onboarding and training of new team members.
- New Business & Pitching
- Take an active and prominent role in new business pitches, contributing SEO strategy, insight, and recommendations.
- Help develop compelling, well-structured pitch materials that demonstrate the team's capabilities and approach.
- Build confidence and authority in presenting SEO strategies clearly and persuasively to prospective clients.
- Manage SEO projects and support delivery across a wide range of client accounts.
- Contribute to SEO strategy execution, reporting on performance, and participating in client discussions.
- Build and maintain trusted, long-term client relationships, acting as a dependable and strategic point of contact.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve client performance and address issues before they escalate.
- Develop and deliver SEO‑optimised content strategies aligned with client KPIs.
- Technical SEO
- Audit website architecture and design, ensuring best practices across URL structure, sitemaps, navigation, and internal linking.
- Carry out page speed and performance audits to identify improvement opportunities.
- Work closely with developers to ensure SEO best practices are implemented on new and existing websites.
- Explore and implement schema markup and structured data opportunities.
- Assist with site migrations, identifying risks and ensuring best‑practice processes are followed.
- Reporting & Analytics
- Use tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs and other SEO platforms to monitor and report on performance.
- Present performance data and strategic recommendations clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and ongoing review of the team's SEO tool stack.
- Industry & Innovation
- Stay on top of developments in SEO, identifying opportunities to increase visibility for brands in AI search.
- Ensure the team is kept up to date with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and emerging technologies.
- Represent the agency externally through thought leadership, speaking opportunities, and industry participation.
Skills & Experience
- Experience contributing to or leading client‑facing presentations and pitches.
- Expert in using tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Screaming Frog, and other SEO platforms.
- Develop experience in managing or mentoring junior team members.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex SEO concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
- Awareness of AI search trends and their implications for SEO strategy.

This is a full‑time role based in our Nottingham or Manchester office. We offer flexible working with two days WFH and three days in the office. Starting salary: £33,000 depending on experience.
