Due to continued growth, they are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join their technical team. This is a critical role for an engineer who excels at designing and deploying robust network solutions for demanding, complex environments.

The Role

You will serve as a subject matter expert for key systems and applications, bridging the gap between high-level engineering design and practical, client-focused deployments. You will be responsible for the full engineering lifecycle, from initial requirements capture to the deployment of complex, resilient infrastructure.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Engineering Authority: Act as an internal technical lead for selected systems, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of industry capabilities.
  • Solution Design: Lead the design and development of value-added services, with a focus on virtualization, high-availability, and traffic optimization.
  • Infrastructure Management: Contribute to the design and management of global network and connectivity infrastructure to ensure performance, security, and scalability.
  • Project Delivery: Own the end-to-end process of investigating and resolving escalated technical issues and documenting new solutions for organizational rollout.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work alongside internal management teams to provide technical authority during client meetings and design demonstrations.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate is an analytical problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the commercial impact of technical decisions.

Essential Requirements:

  • Security Clearance: Candidates must be either currently SC cleared or eligible to undergo SC clearance.
  • Qualifications: Degree (2:1) or HND/HNC in IT, Programming, or Engineering (or 3+ years of equivalent professional experience).
  • Networking: Advanced command of TCP/IP concepts, including routing, switching, and Layer 7 firewall management.
  • Systems Proficiency: Solid practical experience with Linux environments (e.g., CentOS/Ubuntu, Apache, MySQL).
  • Mindset: A professional, proactive "can-do" attitude with the ability to manage your own projects while contributing effectively to a wider team.
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex faults, document findings, and drive corrective actions.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of traffic shaping and scripting (e.g., Bash, Perl).
  • Experience with VMware and Windows Server environments.
  • Background in Asterisk/VoIP platforms or hardware/software systems development.
  • Prior experience in project planning and delivery within tight timeframes.

Why Apply?

This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse, high-stakes engineering projects for global clients. You will join an organisation that prioritises technical excellence and integrity, providing a stable yet challenging environment where your engineering judgment directly influences the success of long-term operational programs.
