SAP S/4 HANA PP Senior Consultant

Job Overview An established consultancy is seeking a Senior SAP S/4HANA Production Planning (PP) Consultant to help design and deliver modern manufacturing and supply chain solutions as part of large-scale SAP transformation programmes.
This role involves leading the functional design and deployment of SAP PP and Production Execution processes while guiding clients through complex operational and system change initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver SAP S/4HANA Production Planning and Execution solutions across a variety of industry sectors.
- Shape end-to-end designs for Make-to-Stock, Make-to-Order, Repetitive, and Discrete manufacturing models.
- Run discovery and design workshops with production and supply chain stakeholders to define optimised business processes.
- Define and coordinate integration points with core modules such as MM, SD, QM, EWM, IBP, and external MES platforms.
- Promote adoption of modern S/4 capabilities including Advanced Planning, MRP Live, Production Scheduling Boards, and Embedded Analytics.
- Support pre-sales and solutioning activities – including demonstrations, proposal input, and effort estimation.
- Contribute to the creation of reusable solution assets and accelerators for manufacturing-led programmes.
- Work closely with architecture, data, and change teams to ensure cohesive solution delivery.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to functional consultants, supporting process enablement and system deployment.
Experience & Expertise
- Significant consulting experience with a focus on SAP PP and related manufacturing modules.
- Involvement in at least two full-cycle S/4HANA implementations, including one large or global deployment.
- Strong working knowledge of Production Planning, Demand Management, Shop Floor Control, MRP Live, and Work Center/Resource modelling.
- Experience integrating PP with MES environments (using middleware such as PI/PO, MII, or similar tools).
- Background in leading SAP workstreams or cross-functional manufacturing solutions within a consulting or systems integration environment.
- Exposure to solutioning or bid support for manufacturing-led SAP initiatives.
Technical Skills
- Advanced configuration knowledge across PP, MRP, Routing/BOMs, Production Orders, Capacity Planning, and Demand Management.
- Understanding of integration touchpoints with MM, SD, QM, PM, and MES systems.
- Familiarity with Fiori applications and embedded analytics for shop floor and KPI reporting.
- Advantageous: exposure to IBP, PP/DS, or advanced scheduling tools.
- Awareness of manufacturing standards and compliance (e.g., ISO, GMP).
Soft Skills & Leadership
- Strong communication and stakeholder management, particularly with operations, production, and executive-level teams.
- Ability to translate complex business processes into practical SAP-based solutions.
- Confident presenting ideas and engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Track record of leading teams, coaching junior consultants, and ensuring delivery quality.
Delivery & Methodology
- Familiar with SAP Activate and agile delivery approaches.
- Experience using Signavio, Solution Manager, and collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Awareness of modern DevOps practices in the SAP environment.
