Key Responsibilities:
- The post is intended to be a concierge/buddy service, acting as a go-between from resident and management.
- A listening ear to pass on any concerns or queries.
- Attending to any needs or issues that might arise on a day-to-day basis.
- The Lifestyle Assistant needs to get to know each resident and their needs to ensure they settle into Tanglewood happily.
- Making residents feel at home and welcome, supporting their transition.
- Be aware of residents’ birthdays and inform the kitchen and entertainments team.
- Introduce yourself to residents and their family members, obtaining contact details to keep in touch.
- Ensure residents are comfortable and liaise with housekeeping, maintenance, care team leaders, catering, hairdressing, chiropody, and activities.
- Ensure residents are aware of the activities programme and assist them in attending.
- Help with correspondence, banking, shopping, and keeping in touch with family.
- Facilitate personal shopping trips for residents.
- Offer to take residents out for coffee or walks.
- Spend one-to-one time with residents, engaging in activities like looking at photo albums or general chatting.
- Use the lifestyle budget to brighten someone’s day.
- Plan appropriate trips and organise transport and venues.
- Encourage residents to socialise together.
- Identify specific personal activities and discuss with the Activities Co-Ordinator.
- Assist residents at certain activities and help them with their personal allowance.
- Accompany residents into town.
- Actively market Tanglewood and promote a positive attitude within the local community.
- Adapt and create an atmosphere that suits individual residents.
- Maintain a record of how you have assisted individual residents.
- Attend funerals as necessary.
