About the Role
As Operations Director, you’ll take full ownership of our end-to-end operations, including manufacturing, purchasing, planning, logistics, site maintenance, and health & safety. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our products are produced and delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll lead a talented team and work closely with other departments to align operations with business goals, drive continuous improvement, and support our ambitious growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacturing: Lead the development and execution of our manufacturing strategy. Ensure timely production aligned with stock levels and demand. Drive efficiency, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing principles. Manage CAPEX projects and asset care strategies.
- Purchasing: Oversee strategic purchasing to optimise cost and supplier performance. Build strong supplier relationships and negotiate capital purchases. Ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials.
- Planning: Own stock forecasting and planning in line with sales targets. Maintain accurate SOPs and capacity plans. Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
- Logistics: Manage all warehouse operations and international shipments. Ensure compliance with export documentation and health certificates.
- Site & Fleet Maintenance: Oversee maintenance of our Boundary Road site and company vehicle fleet. Ensure all vehicles are serviced and operational for business needs.
- Health & Safety: Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Leadership & People: Coach and develop your team through regular appraisals and mentoring. Foster a culture of teamwork, communication, and employee engagement.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a dynamic, hands-on leader with proven experience in operations leadership within manufacturing (ideally feed, food, or pharma). Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and world-class operational practices. Experience managing capital projects and cross-functional teams. Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for improvement.
